Sometimes It Seems

Track six form Plant New Dreams started as a song about Amber, but dedicated to Ranelle, my wife.
Lyrics
We've got a daughter, who just had her first date.
N sometimes I think, that we made a mistake,
When years ago we told her she had to wait; until she turned 16.
Well, it woulda been better if we'd said 23.
Then she wouldn't be sitting in the light of TV,
Holding hands with her friend-at least in front of me. Our daughter has turned 16.

It somehow reminds me of when we first met,
How the love that we found then was the grandest one yet;
But we never dreamed of this long-term duet; the summer we fell in love.
But summer is gone now and we're into the fall,
N when I think back, well it's hard to recall;
That feeling of new love n that great sense of awe; the summer we fell in love.

Sometimes it seems, we've forgotten 16, and what it was like to be young.
Sometimes it seems, we've forgotten 16, and what it was like to fall in love.

Now having a daughter, who has just turned 16,
Reminds me of our life and some of our dreams,
N I hope that we will remember our teens, the year that we turn 61.
Well I know the numbers are just switched around,
But the difference that makes can be really profound;
Now I'll thank our daughter for old love-new found, the year that we turn 61.

Sometimes it seems ...

Tail-N I hope that we will remember 16, the year that we turn 61.
